Deacon Dennis – Lent March 6th, time to return to the fundamentals of our faith.
Motion to waive minutes Ken Wiley

Motion Carried by a thin margin.
New member reports – talk to Carl about transferring to our Council
Grand Knights Report – for Budgeting purposes, budget from lent to lent.
Discussion and summary of fundraising efforts and donations.
Dennis Hagedorn – Discussion about recruiting. Need two individuals for state convention. Insurance agents are changing.
Kendall, Our Assembly is sponsoring the exemplification.
$5,471 checking $16,967 in the CD earning 2.75% at Bankers Trust $8,000 in Geneser scholarship fund.
Financial Secretary Report
Working on getting dues paid and following up on unpaid dues. Asking for knights to follow up with those on that list. One more notice and then they’ll be removed from the roles.
Bills and Communications
Breakfast on the 27th, sent $1000 to Gigis playhouse.
Vote on how the endowment will be enacted.
Motion on the table $10,000 minimum in the account. Two meetings to spend money out of that account.
Comment by Dave Nixon – the fund was setup to be a capital fund for a perpetual scholarship fund. We are nearly there.
Fund started in 2006 with $3,000 in seed money. Took out money in 2016 for the unborn memorial.
Larry said we need to define an emergency in the event we have multiple needs for money.
Not a big deal of we have some money put away in the eyes of the IRS or Supreme.
Joe, from the heart there are always people in need that we can help.
Kendall wants a motion to vote to move to reduce the amount of the endowment fund from the current amount to a $10,000 rainy day fund.
Tom Letsch made a motion we vote turning the endowment into a rainy-day fund with a $10,000 maximum
Tony Slack amended the motion – vote by hand.
Shannon Godwin made a point of order that the vote already had a motion and a second, and that this was technical a second vote.
Previous Motion and Second was rescinded.
Overall Vote to turn the endowment into a rainy-day fund with at 10,000 max limit, meaning we don’t need to add to the fund with 10% of our fundraising proceeds when it is at or above $10,000

Explanation of the vote. We have the right to spend out of that account and suspend the 10% contributions from fundraising efforts unless the balance gets below $10,000

Challenge to all the councils to donate to the VA Therapy Garden – Passing out a letter going out to all the Knights. L0oking at donating proceeds from a fish fry.
Kendall wants video – a screen up so people can see what it is we are trying to do

Joe Christiansen commented on the right to life needs in the community and the money in the account is God’s money.
Discussion about creating a Fish Fry Committee to study our current methods and making suggested upgrades.

Motion by Shannon Godwin to send $200 per family to the two brother Knights who were killed in a car accident on their way home from a Knights Function

Discussion about purchasing plastic 8ft tables. Merlyn is on a church committee discussing the purchase of tables. Discussion of tables was tabled.
Ken Welch – Inner Visions clinic opening new location on the South Side needs an Ultra Sound Machine. Machine will cost $40,000 to $50,000. 32 Councils will be working to donation money for the new Machine from the fish Fry Season.
Travis asked about donations of costume jewelry for our Bingo Friends at the nursing home.
Travis asked to pray for his friend Kenny, who has blood clots, for him and his family.
Ken Welch, mentioned having the fish fry start earlier.
