Knights of Columbus Minutes for 2/17/11

Meeting was called to order at 7:35 by GK Dan Merry.
Lead in prayer by Dan Merry.

Roll Call of Officers: All were present except Troy Koester and Tom Schenck
Minutes of last meeting were approved has sent.
Grand Knight Report; the March 17th meeting is going to be moved to the 24th if the gym is available. Plan to order 27 cases of Tootsie Rolls for this year. Mike Musich has 9 cases at home he would be willing to sale to the council.
District Deputy Report:
Will be a 4th degree ceremony at Algona and at the state convention.
Endowment Fund has $8730. Checking account has $1075 in it. The last pancake breakfast netted $725.50. 90% of that will go to the school because of Catholic school week. Culture of Life Fund is due which is $2 per member.
Financial Secretary Report: 80 members have paid their dues. Will e sending out another notice.

New Business: Brad gave a report on the help needed for the upcoming parish auction on March 5th. Need 2 people to help with food prep at 4:00. Then need 4 at 6:30 to help the Dowling group to serve. A sign up sheet was passed around.
Fish Fry Menu will stay the same for this year. The first one is March 9th. A suggestion by Tony Slack that the first fish fry should be for the Knights Scholarship. A motion to accept was asked for and seconded it was approved.
Mike Musich gave a report on starting a Squires program for our Council. He has done the research and it is Council Based with a committee of 7 to help get it going. It is opened for young men from 10- 18. There is no cost to the Council. A motion to approve the starting of a Squire Circle for our Council was seconded and approved.
